Rougé is a small hamlet roughly in the centre of the Ariège. The hamlet is at about 600 metres, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. It is about 4.5 km from Castelnau-Durban, which is on the main road between Foix, the capital of the department and St Girons, the second city. Rougé est un petit hameau qui
se trouve quasiment au centre du département. Le hameau est à 600 mètres
d’altitude dans les collines au pied des Pyrénées. Il est à 4.5 km du village
de Castelnau-Durban, qui est sur la route départementale entre Foix, (cité
capitale) et St Girons, (sous préfecture du département). |

Our house is one of the original farmhouses, now renovated. It is surrounded by fields and forest with walks in every direction. Notre maison est une ferme
originale maintenant entièrement restaurée. Elle est entourée de champs et de forêts et on peut se
promener dans tous les alentours de la propriété. |

The part which is joined on the back is the modern replacement of the old stables of the farm and we are currently completing the renovation of the exterior façade with insulation covered in a lime render on the ground floor and weather boarding above. La partie derrière est le remplacement moderne de l’ancienne écurie de la
ferme et nous sommes en train de compléter la rénovation de la façade
extérieure avec l’isolation couverte par un enduit de chaux en bas et le
bardage en haut. |
